How to Support a Large Test Automation Project Running on Crutches (and Stay Sane)

At the outset, we had three loosely connected products and more than ten testers working on automation. The products evolved rapidly: major services were often broken or rewritten, causing large portions of automated tests to fail — and recovery was far from quick.

Yet stable regression testing for each product was essential, and abandoning automation was not an option.

In this talk, I will share the key challenges we faced and the steps we took to reduce workload and stabilise the development of automated tests. I will also present real cases and results, showing how the automation team’s efforts ultimately saved hundreds of millions of roubles.
